ADAM DOW! ADAM DOWN!
The
name of this painting signals an emergency for not only Adam but for
mankind. The husband of Eve has been laid out in a supine1
position after a feeble attempt to cover himself with leaves.
Although his wife was deceived, Adam in culpable for not only his
offense but also hers. God gave him charge of the Garden of Eden and
he has fail miserably in his mission. The commandment not of eat of
the forbidden fruit was given to him directly from God. Adam's
choices have rendered him useless in this moment as he waits for his
pending judgment. The owl is much larger in this painting than the
one in Eve Deceived, perched on a dead branch and hovering over Adam.
No coffee in sight. Adam is in need of a Savior.
