Think Lovely

This painting is inspired by Philippians 4:8 Amplified Bible: "Finally, [believers], whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them and implant them in your heart].

These paintings challenge us to intentionally think of things that are praiseworthy and glorious. What we think we magnify, so as we focus our minds on the wonderful works of the Holy Spirit in and around us, this gives life to us. Like innocent children, we are to direct our minds to what is pure, keeping our eyes focused on the Holy Spirit. The Passion Fruit and the Rose of Sharron are metaphors for Jesus Christ's crucifixion for the healing of our minds. The olive branch and its fruits symbolize that we are grafted into Christ and invited to have a personal relationship with Him.

Ephesians 4:23–24 Amp version: "And be continually renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh, untarnished mental and spiritual attitude], and put on the new self [the regenerated and renewed nature], created in God’s image, [godlike] in the righteousness and holiness of the truth [living in a way that expresses to God your gratitude for your salvation].
