Justice and Mercy
Psalm 89:14 AMP Version “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Lovingkindness and truth go before You.”
James 2:13 AMP Version For judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy, but [to the one who has shown mercy] mercy triumphs [victoriously] over judgment.
This art piece shows what our Lord Jesus Christ has done for us on the cross and what God’s kingdom mission is all about. The prisoner is symbolic of all of us who have sinned and all fall short in the glory of God. The punishment of our sins has caused us to live in torment and chaos. But God, who sent His only Son ( Jesus Christ) had taken it upon himself to pay our fine.
Isaiah 53:5 AMP Version: “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was crushed for our wickedness [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing]; The punishment [required] for our well-being fell on Him, And by His stripes (wounds) we are healed." This healing is for all aspects of our being, our spirit, soul, and body. Because of this chains are broken and we can live in freedom. The right side shows how the blood of Jesus Christ paid for all of our sins and we are justified by Him. Notice the word, “PRISONER” on the back of the shirt is being transformed to the word “SON”. This shows our new identity when we accept this free gift.
Galatians 4:5-6 AMP Version: ” So that He might redeem and liberate those who were under the Law, that we [who believe] might be adopted as sons [as God’s children with all rights as fully grown members of a family]. And because you [really] are [His] sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying out, “Abba! Father!”
1 John 3:1 AMP Version: “See what an incredible quality of love the Father has shown to us, that we would [be permitted to] be named and called and counted the children of God! And so we are! For this reason, the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.”
Romans 8:14-17 AMP Version: “For all who are allowing themselves to be led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading again to fear [of God’s judgment], but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons [the Spirit producing sonship] by which we [joyfully] cry, “Abba!
