AN AUDIENCE OF ONE
In the sequel to the painting "First Finale," the young woman embodies a newfound freedom, liberated from past inhibitions, guilt, and shame. Her focus rests solely on the illumination that accentuates her performance as she gracefully maintains balance on what would traditionally be deemed a challenging surface. The primary source of light emanates from a bulb positioned above her, its filament intricately shaped to symbolize the trinity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Upon inversion, the painting metamorphoses into a stage that symbolizes the dancer's world. Positioned at the forefront, God assumes a front-row perspective, illuminating the young woman beyond the conventional confines of the stage. Her dance transcends mere performance, evolving into a profound act of worship directed towards The Audience.
