This depiction of the famous event from the Book of Exodus was done from a unique perspective. When Moses came down from the mountain, with the Ten Commandments, he found the Hebrews worshipping a golden calf. Betha shows this event from the Hebrews' perspective except as a light-hearted parody. The Hebrews brewed all of their coffee and sacrificed it to the calf. It is a reminder of how easily we allow things in our lives to become idols or addictions that hold us in the form of slavery. The Hebrews had just been set free from slavery just days before this event and had quickly returned to that mindset in the absence of Moses.
